With the launch of the third studio album by the German band, The Divine Conspiracy, Simone revealed in an interview on the web Live4metal, which was a concept album based on true stories. Simone reveals that "has something to do with religion. It's about God, he has evidence to mankind, he created many religions with different gods, and the end is to realize if people really are aware that it's all about one thing: there is a god, all who aspire to a different god is, after all, the same. So somehow all religions have similarities and religion is only one large, and adapted it to people over the years. Each song is 13 songs-including the introduction, and each and every one of them has anything to do with the concept. There is a main character is going through life and encounters with different types of religions, and lives too bad aspects about it and also good points. The first part of the CD is on the wrong side of the human soul, you know, people who are greedy, that falls into drug addiction, all faults committed by humans, and this person is killed because it has a strong opinion about Islam. There's a song, the ballad, "Safeguard to Paradise," about that person, Theo van Gogh, who was a very nice person but spoke more. "

In 2008 he had a recital in Miskolc with the band where he could sing classical themes and topics of epic orchestral arrangements, to which Simon said was "the biggest project for us musically. Normally we do not play with a real orchestra and we have arrangements that are in the album on slopes. Now everything is gone and we had to listen carefully to the orchestra. The real sound of the orchestra and what we used to play is very different and we had to put a little more care. It was great being on stage with many musicians. The music comes to life and was a magical feeling. For me to interpret the classic songs was also very special since I have classical training but never showed them to the Epica fans I can do "a

In January 2008, it was announced on the website of the group that Simone was having MRSA.

He is currently touring with Epica presenting their new studio album, Design Your Universe.

Roy Khan, singer of Kamelot, enter one of the themes of Consign to Oblivion, and Simone did so by participating in a matter of Kamelot. Simone said he "knew his music before Epica there, and used the same studio as us to record their latest album. We had changed the name of the group Epica just as they were recording their album called Epica. Since then we had that link with them and the two bands has been good because people who were known to them and we do not, looked at us, and vice versa. Sometimes there have been people who have been confused because of the name after the Kamelot album and people who Kamelot wore the jersey of that album was actually thinking that a T-Epica, Kamelot, but from that moment knew of our existence. Ylönen was born and grew up in Helsinki. He learned to play the piano when he was five years old, and later learned to play guitar and drums. When Ylönen was eight years old, he met Eero Heinonen (the bassist of The Rasmus) and they became close friends during the school year. Ylönen's older sister, Hanna, said that he should try to sing as well. He tried and decided to continue with that, and still remains the lead vocalist of The Rasmus.

When he and Heinonen started at Suutarila high school in the early 1990s, they met Pauli Rantasalmi and later Janne Heinisaken. Ylönen initiated the project of The Rasmus (then called just "Rasmus") in 1994, along with Eero Heinonen Pauli Rantasalmi , and Janne Heiskanen . Most recently, Ylönen announced a solo album scheduled for release in March 2011 with the first single Heavy being out in February. The material will have its premiere at Emma Gaala on February 26, 2011. Ylönen stated that he wanted several songs, that did not fit The Rasmus, to be released as a major record rather than a demo or something like that.
